Hello and a warm welcome to my website.

My name is Morgan Gairell and I am a BACP registered therapist with experience in working with a wide range of issues. My training is in Person-Centred Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Approaches.

Click here to read more about my training and experience.

My aim is to provide a safe space and relationship that inspires inner healing and personal development, helping people to overcome whatever difficulties and concerns they may have.

I believe that we all have within us the ability to live our lives fully. However, our paths are often not as clear or straightforward as we would hope. I see the process of therapy as a way of opening up these moments, allowing the light to illuminate what was once hidden or out of reach.~

&

experience

My training is in humanistic therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. Having gained a first class honours degree in Person-Centred Counselling, I am currently completing a masters in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy research.

I have five years direct client experience in various fields, having grown my skills and knowledge in bereavement counselling, suicide and crisis support, adolescent mental health services and secondary school settings.

Working with young people has taught me a great deal about myself and I have become extremely passionate about helping to create change in the young minds that will hopefully go on to shape a world that will be a secure home for many generations to come.

Alongside my work with young people I have gained a vast amount of experience working with neuro-diverse clients, such as those with Autism and Aspergers.

I have worked with a wide array of adults and young people through my private practice, supporting them through a variety of issues and challenges, such as:

Why Mettā?

METTA_BUDDAH.jpg

Origins

Metta is Pali word often used in Buddhism to describe a sense of benevolence and the cultivation of loving-kindness towards all beings.

Being a Buddhist is a fundamental part of who I am and how I live my life, so I like to think that the roots of my practice are grounded in metta.

METTA_PEOPLE.jpg

In Person

I am compassionate and understanding, knowing all to well that life is often difficult and painful, that the world around us can be hard to navigate.

Although I am a Buddhist I would never force my views or beliefs upon others and I welcome those from all religious backgrounds, alongside every culture and ethnicity. Whatever your age, abilities or needs, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion or beliefs, my overall vision is one of equality, diversity and inclusion.

In Practice

Informed by my training as a humanistic therapist and more recently in mindfulness-based approaches, I aim to create a safe environment where acceptance, compassion and honesty will allow you to bring any issues you want and explore them with me alongside you.

My wish is for you to flourish through a process of discovery and gentle enquiry. I will not judge or analyse, but will encourage open and honest communication between us. The therapeutic process can open up new ways of thinking, feeling and being that will be more authentic and meaningful.

Although centred within the field of ‘talking therapies,’ I draw upon more experiential and creative ways of working that will help create a full embodied experience. Alongside my training as a therapist and mindfulness practitioner, I am influenced by my wider journey through philosophical and spiritual teachings. Therefore, visualisation, breath, sound and body work and/or creative play may prove to be surprisingly important tools in supporting you through this chapter in your life.
