My Approach to Therapy
At the heart of my practice is a person-centred way of working, which is grounded in what I have learnt through 10 years' experience of supporting people therapeutically. I believe that each of us holds the capacity for growth and healing within us, and that the right relationship, one built on trust, warmth and genuine understanding, can create the conditions for this to unfold. Rather than working from a fixed idea of what you "should" need, I follow your lead, trusting that you are the expert in your own life.
Mindfulness also runs through much of my work. I find it a powerful tool for helping people reconnect with the present moment, notice their patterns of thought and feeling with more clarity, and relate to themselves with greater kindness. Whether we're exploring difficult emotions, past experiences, or simply learning to slow down, mindfulness offers a steady anchor throughout the process.
Alongside this, I draw on a range of other modalities and theoretical approaches, adapting my style to what feels most useful for you rather than asking you to fit into a single model. This might mean bringing in ideas from different therapeutic traditions depending on what you bring to the room, what's unfolding between us, or what simply feels needed in the moment. For me, this flexibility is itself part of working in a truly client-centred way. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and neither is my approach to it.
Ultimately, whatever tools or theories I draw on, the relationship between us remains central. My hope is to offer a space that feels safe, honest and collaborative, where you feel able to explore whatever you bring, at your own pace.
